Abstract
Quality of life of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients, to be able to describe the patient's burden due to the disease they suffer from and to see the extent to which the patient can perform their functions well. This study aims to determine the relationship between the degree of shortness of breath and the quality of life of COPD patients. The design used in this research is analytic with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling, a sample of 30 COPD respondents. Data analysis used the Spearman's test. Quality of life was measured using the COPD Assessment Test (CAT) questionnaire and the modified British Medical Research Council Scale (mMRC scale). The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between the degree of shortness of breath and the quality of life of COPD patients with a value of p = 0.022. The more severe the degree of shortness of breath, the less ability to carry out activities, which can affect the quality of life of COPD patients
