ABSTRACT

In addressing population issues, the government has set a priority agenda in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), namely improving the quality of life of Indonesian people through population and family planning programs. One indicator of success is the reduction of unmet need for family Planning (FP). The pupropse of this study was to determine the factors associated with the occurrence of unmet need for FP at UPTD Pondok Betung Health Center. This research is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted from July to August 2023 using purposive sampling technique. The study population consisted of couples of reproductive age (CRA) not using FP at UPTD Pondok Betung Health Center. The sample size was 109 respondents. Data analysis used the Chi-Square correlation test. The results showed a p-value of 0,557 (p>0,05) for the knowledge variable, while the age variable showed a p-value of 0,003 (p<0,05), the perception variable showed a p-value of 0,004 (p<0,05) and the husband’s support variable showed a p-value of 0,000. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between knowledge and the occurance of unmet need for FP, While age, perception and husband’s support are significantly associated with the occurance of unmet need for FP at UPTD Pondok Betung Health Center.
